About the Owner

JS-Outdoors.com is a blog created and written by Jason Swingen, an avid outdoorsman from the northland. Jason grew up in Northeastern Montana hunting mule deer, antelope, grouse, ducks, and pheasants as well as catching walleye, pike, and perch. After college He moved to North Carolina and started targeting bass and bluegill. He is currently living in Duluth Minnesota and primarily fly fishes for steelhead, trout, salmon, bass, and pike with flies he ties himself. During the fall he spends most of his time hunting whitetail deer with his bow and hunting Montana public lands for mule deer, or swinging flies for steelhead on the Brule River.

Involvement in the Community

Jason is currently a board member and email marketer for the State of Minnesota Trout Unlimited as well as the Vice President of the Gitche Gumee chapter of Trout Unlimited. A member of Minnesota Steelheader, and been a guest speaker for the Arrowhead Fly Fishers. You can also find his informational articles and fly tying tutorials in recent Minnesota Trout Unlimited and Lake Superior Steelhead Association newsletters.
